As a street photographer, I am passionate wandering the streets and catch the moments, capture them with an eye for visual forms, rhyme and shadow. My style authentic, sometimes graphic, sometimes poetic. ‘How can an image evoke inspiration, when we may not know the person in the picture and have never traveled to where the photo was taken? My goal is to inspire those to look more carefully at the world around them to discover beauty in unusual places’.

Murat Harmanlikli
Born in Izmit / Turkey. He graduated from Marmara University, Department of Economics. He met with photography in 1996. After a hiatus for a while due to his master’s degree and working life, he started to develop and print his own black and white films in his darkroom in 2007. Since 2016, he has been taking photos with digital cameras. His main interests in photography are street and portrait photography. He is a member of Istanbul Candid Street Photography collective.
As a lover of literature, he thinks that the visual world of novels, the perspectives of the novel characters are at least as effective as seeing photographs, perhaps even more effective in creating photographic images and reflecting one’s own world. In this sense, he believes that getting lost among the crowds like a flaneur on the streets provides endless opportunities for him in terms of photographic production. Currently, he is working on a book project titled “ Istanbul, in the Flux of an All-Embracing Moment.”

A decade ago, she chose to listen to her inner child and pursue her dream of becoming a photographer, leaving behind a prolific career in architecture—a field that shaped her understanding of visual language and urban space. Inspired by Georges Perec’s concept of the infraordinary, her work critically examines everyday life, uncovering the complex layers hidden beneath overlooked stories.
She is the founder of Observadores Urbanos, a platform dedicated to promoting Latin American street and documentary photography while building a community of visual storytellers in the region. Through this initiative, she edited Antología de Fotografía de Calle Mexicana, the first book of its kind in Mexico.
Her work, which spans various photographic approaches, has been published in The Guardian, La Vanguardia, Gatopardo, BBC and L’Oeil de la Photographie, among others. In addition to collaborating with Reuters and various agencies, media outlets, and NGOs, she has exhibited in over fifty shows across four continents and has received awards in prestigious national and international photography competitions.
Sandra is a member of Women Photograph and The Raw Society, and she is an alum of the Eddie Adams Workshop.
